CHICAGO -- Charges have been dropped against a mother and her 14-year-old son after a fatal shooting in a restaurant in the city's West Pullman neighborhood June 18. On June 18, Hood entered Maxwell Street Express to get food while her son waited in the car outside. Shortly after, a man entered the restaurant and an argument ensued between Hood and him, court documents state. Hood allegedly was texting her son from the store, signaling him. He entered the restaurant during the argument. The argument quickly turned physical when the man punched Hood in the head multiple times. This effort is part of contract negotiations that the union says will improve the health of their patients and communities. A group of Ascension Seton nurses voted to unionize in September, joining the National Nurses Organizing Committee/National Nurses United. The union said it represents about 900 nurses, and 98% of those nurses voted to authorize the Tuesday strike. SHANDAKEN, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A fatal crash in the town of Shandaken has resulted in the death of one person. The accident occurred on June 23. ST. LOUIS – A man was hospitalized late Sunday evening after he and two acquaintances were shot at by unknown assailants.According to a spokesperson for the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, the shooting happened just before 11:45 p.m. in the 4800 block of Northland Avenue, located in the Kingsway East neighborhood.Police claim officers were responding to a ShotSpotter notification in the area. While on their way to that location, officers were told of a shooting victim arriving at a hospital and telling staff he’d been shot on Northland.Officers went to the hospital and discovered the victim, a 35-year-old man, had been shot in the hip and was in critical condition.
