It feels so surreal,” Lewis said before Monday’s game. “I think something special is going to happen tonight. I couldn’t tell you what, but it just feels like it’s kind of like that time. I’m just excited.”It turns out, “something special” looks like a three-run home run and a two-out game-t...Woman ‘saving up’ as Ferguson PD cracks down on expired tags

FERGUSON, Mo. - We're hours away from Temp Tag Tuesday in the City of Ferguson, a new campaign to get expired temporary tags off the streets.Debra Noblin purchased her SUV a few months ago. Her tags expired in March, but tough times delayed her from registering her ride."I'm saving up, and that's hard because I have other bills too," Noblin said. She said it's also very difficult to register a vehicle in the state of Missouri."We had to go down to St. Louis City, then we had to go back to the DMV," Noblin said. "Then we didn't have insurance, so we had to go bring proof of insurance, then we had to go back to where we bought the car to get the registration papers to say we paid for the car." Residents call for ‘problem’ warehouse to be torn down after massive fire Even with her dated tags, she welcomes the new initiative by the Ferguson Police Department, but only if it comes with an understanding."I think that's a fair deal, as long as we're not getting tickets for it because we a...Crowds return to St. Louis County Greek Fest for first time in 3 years

Backyard surveillance cameras captured the tense moments when a small Maltese dog saved his little brother by chasing off a coyote that had gotten the younger dog in its mouth. The owners of the pooches, David and Erin Mascaluso, say the incident happened earlier this month after a coyote jumped in their backyard one evening. Their hero dog, 11-year-old Vinny, who weighs all of 10 pounds and has three teeth, was up for the challenge, they said. “He’s always been a scrapper, oh yeah,” David told KTLA. “The first day we brought him home, I went and I pet him and he started growling at me.” In video of the incident, the coyote can be seen jumping the fence and chasing Vinny’s brother, Harley, into a corner. After Harley is heard yelping, Vinny springs into action from the other side of the yard and chases the coyote off as Harley runs the other direction. “You know, a little 10 pound, three tooth dog...and 11 years old chased off a 60-pound coyote,” David said. ...Nova Scotia blazes ‘out of control,’ 16,000 forced to flee

SAN FRANCISCO — Anthony DeSclafani raised his eyebrows. He knew Monday was Patrick Bailey’s birthday, but he had no idea what age the rookie catcher had turned.“He’s 24? Really?” DeSclafani said. “Jeez.”Bailey is young, but in many ways this birthday showed how he plays beyond his rookie status in the Giants’ 14-4 trouncing of the Pittsburgh Pirates in front of a robust Memorial Day crowd at Oracle Park.First, the highlight plays. Bailey was one of six Giants to record a multi-hit game against Rich Hill and the Pirates bullpen. He was one of two to hit a homer. His second career home run in 10 big league games was his first at Oracle Park and his first as a left-handed hitter. His three-hit day also included a key two-run double (reaching third on an error) in the Giants’ five-run second inning that took some disciplined approach from a less-familiar right side of the plate, shortening his swing to slap Hill’s curveball the o...Arson, domestic violence probes underway after fire at UC Berkeley housing in Albany

ALBANY — Arson and domestic violence investigations are underway after an apartment fire prompted evacuations at a UC Berkeley housing community Monday morning, authorities said.According to the University of California Police Department, officers were called at 10:41 a.m. to a home in the 700 block of Ohlone Avenue at the University Village apartment complex for a report of a family disturbance. Responding officers found two people, one adult and one minor, who were treated on the scene for minor injuries by the Albany Fire Department.During that initial response, officers learned one more resident, also an adult, was still inside, and tried to contact that person. But moments later, they smelled smoke coming from inside the apartment, and both Albany and Berkeley firefighters went into the apartment and rescued the resident.Firefighters limited the fire to the room where it started, but not before three buildings at the complex — 105, 106 and 107 — were fully or ...Astros mock A's attendance in now-deleted tweet

(KRON) -- The Houston Astros' official Twitter account has deleted a tweet sent Sunday poking fun at the skimpy Oakland A's crowds over the weekend. "10 runs in front of tens of fans," the tweet read. It racked up more than 4,600 retweets, 17,000 likes and seven million views before it was deleted. The team sent out the tweet after Yordan Alvarez smashed his second home run of the day to give Houston a 10-1 lead, putting the finishing touches on a three-game sweep at the Coliseum. Public weighs in on Oakland Athletics’ Las Vegas stadium financing As it has been for much of the season, the Coliseum was mostly empty for the Sunday matinee. There was a reported attendance of 8,809, which makes up 19% of the stadium's capacity. The A's are last in MLB in attendance, drawing an average of 8,886 fans per game. Their pending move to Las Vegas has hurt their numbers -- they have drawn more than 10,000 fans just three times since news broke of the potential move on April 20. Houston got bl...Latest news
